Honold Logistic Group opens new branch in Aachen
At the beginning fo 2009, the Honold Logistic Group opened its new branch in Aachen. For the first time, Honold is assuming control of a storage facility affiliated to production for Continental AG.Tires are continuously being produced. Up to 28,000 tires are undertaken daily on 3 tiers. That corresponds to up to 45 full truck loads per day. Up to 300,000 tires can be stored in the affiliated storage areas. Additionally storage areas for a further 100,000 tires are available in immediate proximity. Honold takes on the order-related commissioning and allocation of tires, the loading of up to 45 trucks that leave the factory premises on a daily basis, and extra operations. Extra operations refer to additional sorting and produce labelling. The storage facility in Aachen is technically equipped with 14 loading belts and more than 25 forklift vehicles. Amongst other things, Aachen also produces the highest quality of technical premium segment tires. Honold has taken on 70 experienced employees in Aachen in order to handle the operation of the storage facility according to the Honold standard. The operatinal area amounts to around 30,000 m2.
