2011 Annual Meeting

Elections and growth strategies

This year, Poland was the geographical center of the SystemPlus transport network for two days. At the end of May, all of the SystemPlus partners and service providers gathered in Krakow for the Annual Meeting.

“It’s not easy to get the responsible parties from 400 partner companies in 22 countries at one table,” emphasizes SystemPlus Managing Director Karin Wolf. “So we are especially pleased that participation was so strong.”

This was partly because of the Quality Award that was granted during the meeting, but also because the shareholders were gathering for the official Shareholders’ Meeting at the same time as the Annual Meeting, and voting in the new Advisory Board for the next three years. The new Advisory Board members – Wim Bosman, Marianne Welter (Arthur Welter Transports, Luxemburg), José Ochoa (Ochoa Transportes, Spain), Georg Köhler (System Alliance, Germany) and Francois Decaudin (Groupe Heppner, France) will start their work on January 1, 2012.

Culture and professional development were also addressed in detail on the two-day agenda. The first evening, the participants went on a guided tour of Krakow and enjoyed a complimentary drink at Wawel Castle, the former residence of the Polish kings. The next day they learned about what constitutes successful communication and sales work. Two workshops provided them with suggestions from the last strategy meeting, which focused on how to increase shipment figures and continue to improve quality. The introduction of the new “active BIC” tool, which makes it easier to compile quality statistics, rounded out two packed but extremely pleasant days on the Vistula River.
